St louis makers unite to create Masks for the Medical Community.

The Saint Louis Fashion Fund has partnered with our designer-in-residence, Michael Drummond, who has recruited a group of local seamstresses to set up cut-and-sew operations at home for the medical community. They will be manufacturing 14,000 medical masks in the next 45 days.

Thanks to a generous lead donor, we are well on our way to our goal, but we need your help to get there!

Michael has been working with several doctors to vet his design and has created a mask that meets CDC standards. Although these masks are not N-95 grade, they've been requested by frontline workers to help protect and reduce their intake of infectious particles.

Most of these masks will be used to protect patients (I.E. from vapor droplets, a barrier from touching their face, etc...), and they are reusable once sanitized. We are making three sizes - a small for young children, a medium and large for adults. We will be getting these masks in the hands of hospitals, grocery store workers, and small patient care facilities or wherever the need arises.
